The Great Event Terms & Conditions
Basis of Contract: These terms and conditions apply to a Client who orders online, in person, by email or over the telephone. All Hire Equipment is hired subject to them being available for hire to the Client at the time required by the Client. The Great Event will not be liable for any loss suffered by the Customer as a result of the Hire Goods being unavailable for hire due to circumstances beyond The Great Event’s control.
Deposit & Payment: Once an order has been confirmed, a deposit for 25% of the rental is required to secure the booking. The remaining 75% is to be paid 1 month prior to the event.
Rental Period: The normal rental period for all items is 1- 3 days up to a maximum period that may not normally exceed 30 days. Any extension to the rental period must be agreed and specified in the new rental agreement, extra charges may apply. The Great Event agrees to rent its Hire Equipment to the Client for the period stated in the rental agreement. The rented goods shall at all times remain the property of The Great Event. The Client is responsible for the goods during the rental period that commences from the time the goods are delivered to the Client. The hire period finishes when the goods are collected by The Great Event.
Insurance: The Client is fully responsible for the Hire Equipment and for insuring the equipment if necessary, from the time of acceptance until collected. No insurance is provided by The Great Event.
Delivery and Collection: The Great Event will deliver and collect all items to an address of your choice for an agreed fee.
Receiving Goods: When the goods are delivered to the Client, the Client shall inspect the goods and sign the delivery note. In the event of any missing items or damage, the Client shall note this on the delivery note at the time of delivery or notify us before the items are used. If the Client fails to do this, the goods will be deemed to have been delivered in a clean and undamaged condition.
If no one is at the venue to sign for the items they may not be delivered.
Returning Goods: When The Great Event collects the rented goods, they should be properly packed in the protective packaging, crates or cages they were delivered in.
Care of Hire Equipment: The Client must take adequate and proper measures to protect the Hire Equipment from theft, damage and/or other risks. The Hire Equipment is solely intended for use and storage indoors unless specifically designed and manufactured for use outdoors. If the equipment is used or stored outdoors the Client is fully responsible for damage caused by the weather or any other associated hazard. All boxes or cartons must be returned dry and intact. A charge will be made for all cartons, boxes lost or damaged.
The Hire Equipment must be at all times in the possession and control of The Client and it must not be moved to another location without prior consent from The Great Event.
Do not remove any labels or interfere with the workings of the Hire Equipment and only use them for their proper purpose. Where correct fuel and/or voltage is used the Client ensures the Hire Equipment is installed by a qualified and competent person.
The Client permits The Great Event at all reasonable times and upon reasonable notice to inspect the Hire Equipment.
The Client will notify The Great Event immediately if any of the Hire Equipment is involved in an accident resulting in damage to the Hire Equipment, other property and/or injury to any person.
Loss or Damage to Hire Equipment: If the Hire Equipment is returned in damaged, unclean and/or defective state except where due to fair wear and tear and/or an inherent fault in the Hire Equipment the Client shall be liable to pay The Great Event for the cost of any repair and/or cleaning required to return the Hire Equipment to a condition fit for re-hire. The Customer must not repair or attempt to repair the Hire Equipment unless authorized to do so by The Great Event. The Client will pay to The Great Event the replacement cost of any Hire Equipment, which is lost, stolen and/or damaged beyond economic repair.
Linen: Table linen must not be returned or stored damp or wet. Damage resulting from mildew or other stains and burn marks that will not respond to laundering will be charged at full replacement cost.
Liability: The Great Event’s total Liability to the Client under and/or arising in relation to any agreement shall not exceed 2 times the amount of the Rental and charges for Services (if any) under that agreement or the sum of £500 whichever is the higher.
Nothing in this Contract shall exclude or limit the Liability of The Great Event for death or personal injury due to The Great Event’s negligence nor exclude or limit any other type of Liability, which it is not permitted to exclude or limit as a matter of law.
Governing law: The Agreement is governed by the laws of England. Any dispute may be submitted to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. If any provision of this Agreement is or becomes invalid or unenforceable the remaining provisions shall not be affected.
